POLLARD, Mrs. Joyce - Age 65, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1PM Saturday, December 8, 2007 at New St. James C.O.G.I.C., 2229 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:30PM. Rev. Dr. Arnold E. Lakes, Sr., officiating. Eld. Eddie Parish, Host Pastor. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1PM Saturday. Mrs. Pollard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 3PM-8PM Friday. Mrs. Joyce Elaine Pollard was born July 23, 1942 in Flint, MI to Mr. Cornelius Walker (deceased) and Georgia M. Barbee at Hurley hospital. Joyce AKA Mother" committed her life to the Lord and worked faithfully until the Lord called her home. She was joined in marriage to Mr. Ralph C. "Dibble" Pollard (deceased), and together they had five children. After accepting the Lord she faithfully used her gift at New Covenant COGIC, New Testament Christian DOC, & finally at New Covenant Christian (DOC) to assist her brother in ministry where she loved singing, writing songs, praising the Lord, and playing the keyboard. She would evangelize any one she met. Mother Joyce Elaine Pollard leaves to cherish sweet memories: beloved children, daughter, Trina Berkley; sons, Ralph Pollard Jr. of Charleston, MS, LeRoy Pollard, Jackie (Kimberlinn) Pollard of Oxford, MS and Darnell Pollard of Flint, MI; mother, Georgia M. Barbee of Baldwin, MI; brothers, Rev. Dr. Arnold E. (Angelete) Lakes, Quinton (Teresa) Barbee, Herbert (Sharon) Barbee, Jr. and Dennis (Georgia) Barbee; sisters, Mrs. Diane (Alfred) Hardy, Brenda Addison, Juliette Walker and Jacqueline Walker; grandchildren, Keniya, Undre, Jacayla, Dominique, Ralph Jr., Antonio, Eleazar, Michah, Dena'I and DeJour; great-grandchildren, Tranaya, Zaria, Terell Jr., Keona and Undra Jr.; uncles & aunts, Jesse Lakes, Will and Rossalee Edwards, many other relatives and close friends. Mother Joyce was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Pollard; fathers, Cornelius Walker & Herbert Barbee Sr.; brothers, Jerry Lakes and Michael Walker.
