Mr. Johnie J. Moore Jr.

MOORE, Mr. Johnie J. Sr. - Age 59, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center Family hour 1:30 Friday, April 8, 2022 with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Friday. Mr. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12;00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday. Johnie J. Moore Jr. was born July 27, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan, The son of Johnie J. and Rosie Lee Moore, Sr. Johnie J. Moore Jr. graduated from Highland Park Community High School in 1982. He attended for a short time to a college for business. Johnie played in the band in high school until adulthood. Mr. Moore worked as a supervisor at a nursing home where he met his wife, Kerrie Moore. Time passed and they were blessed with six children. God called one home and soon after they moved to Flint, Michigan, in 1999. They started a new life got into church and down the road they had five more children. Now with a family of ten he managed to hold down a secure job at General Motors Corporation as a maintenance man. Johnie prayed with his family and read his bible daily. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Always interacted with his kids through sports or games. Johnie liked watching movies with family, he especially enjoyed scary movies the most. He was a fan of basketball and football and seeing his kids in sports. He taught his kids to play chess and cards. Johnie played the guitar and piano. He loved to sing and listen to music. His smile could brighten any room, and he had a knack for telling jokes and making people laugh. Johnie Moore Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Kerrie Moore; four sons, Johnnie (Latrice) Moore III, Joshua (Mozezetta) Moore of Tennessee, Joseph and Javontay Moore; six daughters, Seda, Akeyilla, Karon, Britny, Teasheona, and Jayla Moore; grandchildren, Arionna, Harmony, Johnie IV, Jayceon, Jordon, LaBella, Jaydon, Alonna, Malyk, Martin, Malahkai, Micah, Zetta and Zoey; two brothers, Preston Anthony and Edward (Cynthia) Braziel; two sisters, Alice (Archie) Powell and Paticher Moore; nieces, Lyeeda, Rosa, Shawn, April, Louise, Treshelle, Sasha and Angela; nephews, Preston, Christopher, Drake, Jessie, J.V., Antonio, Archie III, Justin and Jacob; cousins, Margaret Hicks and Clenzell Page; sisters-in-law, Michelle Salenik, Jacke (Robert) Salenik, Denise Salenik and Rosie Salenik; brothers-in-law, Archie Powell and Michael (Elizabeth) Salenik; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Johnie Moore Jr. was preceded on death by his daughter, Rosa Moore; parents, Johnie and Rosie Lee Moore, Sr.; two sisters, Gloria Braziel and Mary Carroll.
