Mr. Jerry Lee Relerford

RELERFORD, Mr. Jerry Lee - Age 72, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Apostle Clarence Lewis officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Relerford will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Jerry Lee “Tuff” Relerford was born June 18, 1943 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. & Mrs. O.D. and Zora Bailey Relerford. He attended Flint Community Schools. Jerry was a man who wasn't afraid of hard work. He had his own shoe shine business and worked long hours at Buick Motor Division. Jerry was an avid boxer for the Golden Gloves, training hard at Berston Field House, under the name “Tuff”. He wouldn't go anywhere unless he was matching from head to toe. He sure loved to dress. Jerry was such a giving person. He was always there when you needed him. “Tuff” will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Jerry Lee “Tuff” Relerford leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, LaShawn Anthony; 3 sons, Carl Sims, Calvin Relerford, all of Flint and Ronnie Sims of Toledo, OH; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ozell Burns and Shirley D. Ford; 3 brothers, Ottis (Virginia) Relerford, Scott Relerford, and Jerome (Deborah) Relerford; sister-in-law, Willie B. Relerford; brother-in-law, Auburn (Jessie) Bonner; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including special friends, Damayrie Melendez and Irene Smith. Mr. Relerford was preceded in death by son, Jerry Relerford Jr.; parents, Mr. & Mrs. O.D. and Zora Bailey Relerford; siblings, Joe, Ruthie, Timothy, Eli, Amos, Louise, Bobbie Mae, Mary Ann and Elaine; brother-in-law, J.P. Ford; and the mother of his children, Gloria Jean Relerford. The family would like to express special thanks to Apostle Clarence L. Lewis and the New Beginnings Ministries family, Supt. Anthony Tolbert and Glad Tidings Church Of God In Christ family, Elder Joe W. Robinson and the Evangelistic Temple of Apostolic Faith Church family, Supt.
