Mrs. Jennette Sanders

SANDERS, Mrs. Jennette - Age 67, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00 a.m. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Sanders will lie in state in Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be view from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Jennette (Thomas) Sanders was born October 30, 1948 in Plains, Georgia, the daughter of Bobbie and Annie (Solomon) Thomas. She attended Flint Northern High School. Jennette was united in Holy Matrimony to James G. Sanders on April 30, 1998. She was a resident of Flint for over 50 years. Jennette was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed at various jobs including Fisher Flint I, a division of General Motors and retiring from Inalfa in Auburn Hills, MI. Jennette enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, cooking, listening to the Blues and especially dancing. Mrs. Jennette Sanders leaves to cherish her loving memory: daughter, Martha “Mott” Thomas; 6 step-children, Susan Malone, Wesley Sanders and Charles Sanders, all of Flint, Anthony D. Sanders, Hazel Hillard, both of Pontiac, MI, Robert C. Sanders, Elkart, IN and James G. Sanders, Jr. of Reston, VA; 4 grandchildren, Premetheis (Latia Green) Akins, Kelonie Akins, Brandin Mitchell and Qua-tyra Mitchell; 7 great-grandchildren, Asharianna Akins, Amear Green, Aireyon Akins, Naiana Akins, Londyn Williams, Ayden Akins and Le’Sean Williams; mother, Annie Thomas; 2 sisters, Bobbie G. Peoples and Geraldine Dent; 2 brothers, Phillip Dewayne Thomas and George (Deloris Powell) Thomas, all of Flint; aunt, Mrs. Susan Walker of Preston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends that she held dear to her heart including special friends, Connie W., George Cleaves, Alex Phillips, Andrew (Praise) and Pam Carter, and special step-daughter, Patricia Felton. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Sanders; father, Bobbie Thomas; brother, Douglass Thomas; sister-in-law, Gene (Sprinkle) Thomas; 2 brothers-in-law, Eddie Peoples and Leroy Dent; a host of other relatives and friends.
