Mr. James Blair

BLAIR, Mr. James - Age 71, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Marvin A. Jennings, Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Blair will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. James Blair entered this world March 11, 1942, to parents, Louis and Margaret Blair in Ethelsville, Alabama. Mr. James Blair was a devoted member of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired from General Motors after many years of service. Upon retirement, Mr. Blair "JB" remained active in the community mentoring countless individuals. Even though his plate was full, Mr. Blair being the kindhearted and free-spirited individual that he was, always made himself available to others. Even in his darkest hours and until the day he left this earth, he remained faithful to God, kneeling down in prayer when he could. He consistently had a smile, a joke and words of encouragement. He made a point to let those around him know that we mattered and he loved and appreciated us all dearly. Mr. Blair leaves to cherish his memory: 5 loving daughters, Rhonda Blair, Denise (Edward) Hadnot, Jacqueline Ferguson (Dale) Mason, Ariane (Michael) Jackson and Terri Ferguson; 13 grandchildren, Latosha, Brandon, Trey, Alexus, Christian, Kiiko, Jacquari, Jason, Anissa (James), Mychal, Eboni, Anjannetta and Amber; 1 brother, Tommie (Jackie) Blair; 2 sisters, Rose Irvin and Annie (Joe) Hawkins; loving aunt, Stella Mae Booker; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members including best friend, Jimmie Norton. Mr. Blair was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Ann Blair; sons, James William Blair II and Jody Coleman; parents, Louis and Margaret Blair; siblings, Louis Blair Jr. (Pete), Martha Mae Blair and Mary Mae Blair. The family extends special thanks to the Emergency Room Staff at Hurley Medical Center, the staff at Briarwood Rehabilitation, cousin, Roy Chambry and nephew, Andre Blair. Special thanks to nieces, Natalie Davis, Marketta Williams and Margaret Tyson. A Heartfelt thank you to Mr. Lawrence E. Moon.
