Inez Stipe

STRIPE, Mrs. Inez - Age 82, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Meadow Lodge Nursing Home in Montrose, MI. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle Ave., with funeral service 11AM. Dr. A.J. Pointer officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Wednesday. Mrs. Stripe will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Mrs. Inez H. Stipe was born October 18, 1925 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Rev. William and Marie Austin. Mrs. Inez H. Stipe resided in Flint, MI then moved to Las Vegas, NV, where she lived for the past 25 years. She was a member of True Love Church in Las Vegas, NV, where she served on the Nurses Guild and Kitchen Committee. Mrs. Stipe retired from the Holiday Hotel Casino. Due to her illness, she returned to Flint, MI in November 1999, where she became a member of Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Stipe love being with her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest. She leaves to cherish her memory: 6 children: Antionette (John) Hardy, Fred (Stella) Hill of Jacksonville, Fl, Vernon (Ruby) Hill, Sheila Bolden all of Flint, Rhonda Johnson and Jefferey Bolden both of Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law, Eveleen Davis of Flint; brother, Niles (Claudine) Austin of Washington DC; 2 sisters, Yvonne Junior of Mesa, AZ and Iris Barbee of Flint; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; cousin, Hester Frisk of Calament, IN; dear friends, Rev. Willie (Minnie) Jacobs of Las Vegas, NV and Jean Burnes. Mrs. Inez Stipe was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William (Marie) Austin; 3 sons, Charles Davis, Carl Davis and Marvin Johnson; 2 sisters, Juanita Johnson and Constance Elzy; brother, Shirley Austin; 2 brothers-in-laws, Walter Barbee and Willie Junior. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Bridges of Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, Meadow Lodge in Montrose, MI, Dr. Edward Christy, care givers, Becky, Henriette, Michelle, Karen and Randy.
