THOMAS, Mr. Henry "Hank" Jr., - Age 81, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Monday July 12, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM.,Pastor Juanita Crump officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Flint, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Monday. Mr. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00AM-3:00PM Saturday. Henry “Hank” Thomas Jr., was born September 3, 1939 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Henry Sr. and Vashti “Boots” (Brown) Thomas. He attended Flint Community Schools graduating from Flint Central High School class of 1957. After High School, Henry was employed by General Motors before joining Hurley Hospital as a Psych Technician, a job that he loved, retiring after 23 years of service. Henry never met a stranger and was very complimentary of people. He was always laughing, joking, smiling, and dancing. His swagger was unmatched. He was a very intense listener, who loved spending time with his family. He possessed such a generous kind of spirit. Henry became a member of Five Fold Ministry Christian Center after giving his life to the Lord at a very early age. In his spare time he was a D.J. and a Chauffeur. He truly enjoyed hosting and entertaining people. He was very competitive at Dominoes and Spades claiming to “whoop up on everyone’s head.” He spent a lot of quality time with his Domino buddies. He always wore the latest fashion, dressing to the “T” for every occasion. He shopped for literally everyone. If you had interest in something he got it for you. Henry concluded every conversation with “Praise the Lord, God Bless You.” Mr. Henry “Hank” Thomas Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: children, Yolonda (Jeffrey) Cross, Alphonzo (Iretta) Morgan and Shawn (Timothy) Edwards; step-daughter, Tracy Gibbs; grandchildren, Timothy II, Trent, Trey, Jeffrey Jr., Ayindya, Cherese, Alphonzo, Zachary, Malcolm, Aliesha; a host of great grandchildren; cousin, Nancy Clark; host of other relatives and friends including, Navarro Lockett, Curtis and Joyce Crump, Genell and Kermit Reeves, Robert Stinson and William “Smoke” Odom. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Thomas; daughters, Debra (Thomas) Warren and Serena Blackmon and his parents, Henry Sr. and Vashti “Boots” (Brown) Thomas.
