WILLIAMS, Mr. Gerald Thomas Sr. - Age 53, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Thursday, January 5, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Bishop Bernadel Jefferson, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Thursday. Mr. Williams will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Gerald T. Williams Sr. “Baby Gerald” was born March 28, 1969 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Gerald T. Menefee and Cloteel Williamson. Gerald attended Flint Community Schools and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School (N-dub), “Class of 1987.” Following graduation, Gerald joined the United States Marine Corps #2531 as a Field Radio Operator. In 1990, He returned to Flint along with his family and began employment with Jemerson Sewing Corporation where he managed various departments within the facility so that he could provide for and help raise his children. Gerald loved sports, playing Dominos, cards, spending time with his family and friends. To know him was to love him, he was full of life and was greatly respected for his loyalty, honesty and kindness. Always offering to lend a hand and help anyone that he possibly could and never expected anything in return. Mr. Gerald T. Williams Sr. “Baby Gerald” leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Gerald (Cha’Ris), Generald, Garitt (Rosie) and Gerrius (Arriyana) Williams; grandson, Gianni Williams; father, Gerald T. Menefee; brothers, Jeneral (Jamie) and Andre Williams; sisters, GerTonya Woods and April (Kevyn) Williams; aunt, Sarah (Fred) Bashir; uncles, Barry (Martha) Menefee and Charles “Pop” Williamson; great-aunt, Rene (Willie) Cobbin; great-uncle, Ralph Pea; a host of nieces and nephews including special niece, Keyera Jackson; nephew, Rickey Jackson Jr.; great-nephew, Llewellyn Jones; bonus sister, Robin Bullock; a host of cousins including, the Bashir family; special cousin, Rashida Bashir; mothers of his children, Rose Williams, Nancy Harper and Shauna Wilson; special friends, Sherman Boaz, Tyrone and Shella. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his mother, Cloteel Williamson; grandparents, Johnnie Foster, Geroff and Viola Menefee; niece, Gerlesa Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to Kevyn Jackson and family, Loretta Burns and family, the Leverette and Gist families, Rosalind Ford, Sherry McClain, Julie McNair, the Darryl Drive and Milly Avenue families, the Howell and Tillman families.
