Mr. Freddie L. "Ted" Hill Sr.

HILL, Mr. Freddie L., Sr. "Ted" - Age 64, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Lamarcus Keels officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mr. Hill will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Freddie Lee Hill, Sr. was born October 21, 1948 in Wheatley, Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hill, Sr. He graduated from Marion Anderson High School where and met and married Thelma Burnett on September 24, 1967. To this union 8 children were born, 5 sons and 3 daughters. Freddie moved to Flint, Michigan and was employed at NAO Flint Complex, a division of General Motors. He retired after 30 years of service. Freddie enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, bowling, softball, dominoes and watching sports. He was the family comedian who enjoyed spending time with his family cracking jokes and giving all the grandchildren their special nicknames. Mr. Freddie Lee Hill, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Thelma Hill; 3 daughters, Angela Hill of Saginaw, MI, Cinde Hill and Jill (Justin) Sullivan, both of Flint; 4 sons, Michael (Cherita) Hill of Torington, WY, Darick (Crystal) Hill of Grand Rapids, MI, Freddie (Lodina) Hill, Jr., Terance (Ivory) Hill, both of Flint; 32 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Sandra West, Loretta (Tyrone) Swanigan, Marilyn Hill and Shirley Hill, all of Detroit, MI; 8 nieces; 13 nephews; 1 sister-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; a host other relatives and friends including special friends, Thomas Rita, Jr., Charlie Pitts and Lilton Tucker. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Allen Hill; grandson, Timothy Allen Hill; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Herman Hill, Sr.; 2 sisters, Ella Nadine Hill Smith and Johnnie B. Gregory; 2 brothers, Herman Hill, Jr. and Ricky Hill; son-in-law, James Tyrone Cameron; mother-in-law, Eveleana Burnett.
