Mr. Franklin Ezell Grace Sr.

GRACE, Franklin Ezell Sr., - Age 71, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County-Shiawassee, MI. Family hour 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Charity United Methodist Church, 4601 Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Rev. Brian Willingham officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Grace will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, with the family present from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Franklin E. Grace Sr. was born October 17th, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, the first born child to William and Emma Grace. In 1958, he joined Gospel Temple Baptist Church under the tutelage of the Late Dr. E.L. Ramsey and later joined New Prospect Church, all of Detroit, MI. Frank attended McKenzie High School and in 1968 he began his career at GM’s Detroit Diesel Plant. During his tenure with General Motors he worked at the Warren Plant, Buick City and in 2007 he retired from The Saginaw Plant. Mr. Grace enjoyed retirement and spent his time doing what he Loved, Classic Cars. He attended any car show that was in The City of Flint especially Downtown Flints own Back To Bricks. He loved just cruising & washing his Buick Classic and his Chevy pickup truck. He also enjoyed old school music, family gatherings and hanging out with friends and neighbors in his subdivision. He was President of Charity’s United Methodist Men and served on the Usher Board as well. Mr. Grace leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 21 years Mary Dantzler-Grace of Flint; son, Frank Jr. (Zenobia) Grace of Redford, MI; daughters, Bronwyn (Charles) Rodgers of Detroit, MI, Tammie Dantzler, Yolanda (Monte’) Collins and Billie Marie Dantzler, all of Flint; grandchildren, Frank III, Tysia, Taylor, Christina, Malik, Christopher, Ronald III, Miles, Chalon, Saraia and Brooke; sister, Kathy Grace; brothers, William (Edwina) Grace and Marvin (Almire) Grace, all of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Anthony) Robinson of Houston, TX, and Linda Burns; brothers-in-law, Sidney Hill, Doug (Andrea) Hill and Sam Hill, all of Flint; aunt, Idonia Clark of Rochester, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Harold Hicks, Henry Allen, Elzie Dennis, Carrie Gill, Charles Miller, Flint’s Buick Club, Bobbie and Sherlock Holmes among many others. Mr. Grace was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Grace. The family would like to express great thanks to Hospice House of Shiawassee County, McLaren Hospice Nurses Of Flint, Personal Care Assistants Monte’ Collins and Miles Dantzler, Master’s Barbershop and Jag Haber Dasher. The family also extends Great Thanks to the Hill, Grace and Collins families, the Faith United Methodist Church family, the Charity United Methodist Church family and Rev. Brian Willingham.
