Mr. Forrest Hairston

HAIRSTON, Mr. Forrest - Age 58, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025 from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025. Mr. Hairston will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, June 20, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Forrest Hairston was born on June 30, 1966, to Robert and Lois Hairston. He attended Flint Northern High School and held various positions throughout his life, ranging from factory work to managing several local restaurants. Forrest had a deep passion for music and cars. Whether playing the piano and composing his own songs or blasting his favorite tunes, he was often heard singing. If you saw him driving by, you could be sure his truck or car was spotless, with rims gleaming in the sun. Known as “Fo” to many friends and affectionately called “Bay” by his family, Forrest was a humorous and strong-willed man. He could make you laugh in an instant and was equally quick with his temper. His love for his family was unwavering, and he stood up for them whenever he could. Forrest leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, Briana, Tiana, Shantavia, and Ariana, all of Flint, MI; five grandchildren, Laila, Alexis, I’Aylah, I’Anne, and Josiah; four sisters, Rolanda (Delano) Moore, Odessa (Curtis) Brooks, Darlene (Donald) Hogan, and Lucricia Allen, all of Flint, MI; a brother, Darryl Hairston of Flint, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends, including best friends Michael McClellan, William and David Seay, and the mothers of his children, Dawn Hairston and Tailiah Williams. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Hairston; sisters, Corliss Williams and Kaloa Hairston; brothers, Robert and Stanley Hairston; sisters-in-law, Donna and Freda Hairston; brother-in-law, Arthur Williams; and nephew, Robert Hairston. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and staff and extend a special thank you to everyone who has supported them during this time.
