Ervin Stitt,

STITT, Mr. Ervin Patrick Jr. - Age 57, answered the Lord’s call, Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 502 Leith St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Rev. Frank Woods, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mr. Stitt will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Friday. Mr. Ervin Patrick Stitt, Jr. was born October 30, 1950 in Portsmith, Virginia, the son of the late Mr. Ervin and Zola (Walker) Stitt, Sr. He accepted Christ at an early age and was currently attending Israel of God in Pontiac, MI. Ervin was a 1969 graduate of Flint Northwestern High School. He later attended the Southern University and graduated with honors from Mott Community College with a associate degree in Food Management. He previously worked at Gundry Elementary School and MTA Your Ride. Ervin was currently a driver for Champion Auto Sales. Ervin’s true love was serving and working for the Lord. His joy in life was helping others and always with a smile. He leaves in God’s Care: wife, Virginia Nolan-Stitt; 2 daughters, Lashona (Earl Hudson) and Sophia Stitt; 2 sons, Tyrone (Peritha) and Haskell (Amy) Stitt, all of Flint; stepchildren, Omar, Lekia, Deanna “Tweety”, Christopher Nolan; 5 grandchildren, Roshana and Robert Bridges, Leandrea, Kristiana and Dashon Stitt; stepmother, Shirley Stitt; 3 sisters, Wanda and Debora Stitt and Valerie (Michael) Toles; brother, Neil Stitt; stepbrother, Brian (Rhonda) Willingham all of Flint; 4 nieces including special niece, Knekisha Stitt; 5 nephews, 11 great nieces; 7 great nephews; adopted niece, Isha Love Whitaker; 3 aunts, Doris (John) Jones, Patricia Gilyard and Katherine Stitt of St. Louis, MO; uncle, Andrew Stitt; mother of children, Gloria Stitt; 3 sisters-in-law, Annette Blake, Tracy and Jennifer Williams; 2 brothers-in-law, Terry Nolan of TN and Timothy Williams; a host of friends including Goldie McEwen and many other cousins, relatives and friends. Mr. Stitt was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Zola Stitt; brother, Ronald Stitt; grandmothers, Hattie Holloman-Hunt and Mary Walker; grandfather, Patrick Stitt; great grandparents, Margie and Sam Hunt; mother and father-in-law, John and Elma Williams and sister-in-law, Sandy Stitt. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the neighbors on W. Philadelphia Avenue, Pastor Seon F. Thompson and the Refuge Temple of Flint Church family, Dr. W.A.
