DAVIS, Mrs. Elizabeth B. (Tarver) - Age 60, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 9:30AM Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 2101 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 9:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Davis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-2PM Sunday, July 3, 2005, and 10AM-2PM Monday, July 4, 2005. Elizabeth Bernice Tarver Davis was born on July 30, 1944 on Flint Street in Albany, Georgia, to Fred and Claudia Louise Tarver. Bernice was a resident of Grand Blanc, MI. She was a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she was on the Steward Board and a member of the Chancel Choir. Bernice was a graduate of Hurley School of Nursing and the University of Michigan. She was a Registered Nurse with the City of Flint Health Department and retired from Mott Community College as a Health Counselor. Bernice was a member of the American College Health Association and a Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society of the AME Church. She had a beautiful soprano voice and was an outstanding cook and decorator. Bernice leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband of nearly 40 years, Evans R. Davis of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter, Karen Anita of Oak Park, MI; son, Norman David (Latondra) Davis of Madison, WI; granddaughter, Kariah Lei Davis of Madison, WI; mother, Claudia Louise Tarver of Grand Blanc, MI; 2 brothers, Fred D. (Patricia) Tarver, Jr. of Grand Blanc, MI and W. David (Kishna) Tarver of Red Bank, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins including special cousin, Thelma L. Watson of Albany, GA; mother-in-law, Iva G. Davis of Burton, MI; 2 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; goddaughter, Natalie Jemison; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Bucilla Petross, Johnnie Welch and Gwen Turner. Mrs. Elizabeth B. (Tarver) Davis was preceded in death by her father, Fred D. Tarver; grandmothers, Elizabeth B. Hayden and Ida Tarver; aunt, Mary Seay; and uncle, William W. Hayden.
