NICHOLS, Rev. Dr. Elizabeth - Age 99, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, May 2, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Flora Jean Anders, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Rev. Dr. Nichols will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nichols was born July 6, 1925 in Vicks, Arkansas, the daughter of John Collins and Lula D. (Green) Collins. Celebrating the life of Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nichols. Pastor of United Missionary Baptist Church. She obtained an Associated Degree and Bachelor Degree, both in Theology. A woman of many talents in carpentry, roofing, plumbing and loved to sing spiritual songs such as, “We’ve Come this Far by Faith” and “His Eye Is On The Sparrow.” She moved to Flint, Michigan in 1946 where she began to spread the gospel. Her love and passion for children led her to become a Foster Parent of many children. Rev. Dr. Nichols enjoyed watching videos and spending time with family and friends. Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nichols leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Dennie Lou Caldwell of Grand Blanc, MI, Margaret Ann Shipp and Bobbie Jean Shackelford, both of Flint; son, Robert Earl Anderson of Mt. Morris, MI; grandchildren, Clarence (Monica) Caldwell, Darryl (Christina) Caldwell, all of Flint, Shantell Caldwell of Grand Blanc, MI; Teddy Anderson of Los Angeles, CA, Terrell Anderson of St. Louis, MO, Cindy Anderson of Flint, Charles W. Shipp II of Dallas, TX, Johnny Shackelford of Japan, Bobby Shackelford, Elizabeth Shackelford, Jerry Isom, all of Flint, Gregory R. Nichols of Sherwood, AR, Josyl A. Nichols, Jeah C. Nichols, Vance A. Nichols, all of Little Rock, AR, Karisa L. Nichols of Springdale, AR; god-daughter, Sheila Lomax; god-son, Mark Lomax; a host of other relatives and friends. Rev. Dr. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Nichols; grandchildren, Eric Shackelford, Victor L. Nichols, James M. Nichols, Karisa E. Nichols and Teressa Anderson; parents, John and Lula D. Collins; 2 step-children, Theo Anderson and James Nichols.
