Mrs. Elizabeth Lee

LEE, Mrs. Elizabeth - Age 85, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, June 6, 2025 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E, Carpenter Rd. Funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Elder Veotis Jones, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Lee will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Elizabeth Lee known as “Liz” was born October 4, 1939, in Louisville, Mississippi, the daughter of Bunion and Lula Miller. She confessed Christ at an early age at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, MS. Liz also received her early education in Louisville and graduated from Louisville High School. Liz moved to St. Louis, Missouri and later to Flint, Michigan. After working for 30 plus years, Liz retired from Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant, a division of General Motors Corporation and was a member of UAW Local #659. Liz was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Odis A. Floyd. She was a member of the Inspirational Voices of New Jerusalem and served on the Hospitality Ministry. Liz loved to fish and watch basketball on television. She also loved traveling and cooking. Her specialties were pound cakes, homemade ice cream and egg pies. Mrs. Elizabeth Lee leaves to cherish her memory: brother, Johnie Lee Miller of Flint; sisters, Kate Talley and Catherine Minor of St. Louis, MO; special niece, Joe Ann Campbell who was her caregiver; special nephew, Steve Callahan Jr.; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including special friends, Rene’ Ervin and Helen Davis. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Bunion and Lula Miller; sisters, Eddie Mae, Mattie Bell and Ida Mae; brothers, Garland, Albert and Roosevelt Miller. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Ahmed Qadir, Dr. Abdul Hasnie and Majestic Care Nursing Facility of Flushing, MI, Hurley Medical Center, New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church family and Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church family.
