THOMAS, Mr. Douglas - Age 57, passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 at Goodrich Care Center. Family hour 10:00AM Friday, December 19, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, G-4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Friday. Mr. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. Douglas “Bubble, Bozo, Bo” Thomas was born December 27, 1950 in Plains, Georgia, to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie and Annie (Solomon) Thomas. Douglas married Jean Sprinkle, October 1973 in Flint, MI. He worked at Buick Motor Division for 33 years, retiring in 2006 and was a member of UAW Local #599. Douglas was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized. He served on the Usher Board in which he loved. Douglas attended Northern High School “Class of 1969.” He loved family, friends, fishing, cooking and traveling. Mr. Douglas Thomas leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 35 years, Mrs. Jean Thomas of Flint; daughter, Shatoiya Thomas of Pontiac, MI; son, LaJuan Thomas of Williamsport, MD; granddaughter, Tierah Thomas; grandson, LaJuan Thomas, Jr.; mother, Mrs. Annie Thomas; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bobbie Peoples, Mrs. Geraldine (Leroy) Dent and Mrs. Jeanette (James) Sanders; 2 brothers, Mr. Phillip Thomas, and Mr. George Thomas; uncle, Mr. David Thomas, all of Flint; aunt, Mrs. Susan Walker of Georgia; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton and Lois Sprinkle; 3 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Antonia (Stonnie) Hasan, Ms. Deborah Sprinkle and Ms. Leatrice Sprinkle, all of Flint; 4 brothers-in-law, Mr. Elroy (Deborah) Sprinkle of Grand Blanc, MI, Mr. Leroy (Wanda) Sprinkle of Ohio, Mr. Dwight (Trish) Sprinkle and Mr. Corey Sprinkle, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his twin daughters; father, Mr. Bobbie Thomas; 2 aunts; 1 uncle; 2 brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Elmaldhi Saeed, Goodrich Care Center, the many friends Douglas met on his life journey, Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., and the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family.
