LEWIS, Mrs. Debra - Age 63, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2023, at Harris Memorial Church of God In Christ, 4317 Lippincott Blvd., Burton, MI with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Supt. Eric C. Bogan, officiating, Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 1:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Lewis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday.Mrs. Debra Faye Lewis was born January 8, 1960 in Pinson, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert Sam and Willie Rose Franklin. Debra was a child of God who loved to have fun while lifting up the spirit of others. She received Christ at a young age. While serving the Lord, Debra was the founder of many quartet groups, including the Heavenly Angels of Flint. She attended Flint Community School. Debra loved to play Bingo, was an excellent cook and interior designer. Momma was strong, firm and was able to love her own children and taught us the love of God. Debra enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and ever great-grandchildren. She also loved having cookouts. Mrs. Debra Faye Lewis leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Kenneth Lewis; 4 daughters and 3 sons, LaKeisha Canady, Quateaka Franklin, all of Flint, Sequoia Lewis of Texas, Daryll (Doris) Franklin, Sylvester Pendleton, DeAngelo Pendleton, all of Flint and Keyla Miller of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Erickia Ashford, Jo’Wan Williams, Remmie Martin, Ka’Remma Martin, Damacus Ruffin, Careem Hall, La’Niyia Franklin, Questioneer Pendleton, Maliath Pendleton, Sylvester Pendleton Jr., Zanayah Pendleton, Adree Pendleton, Daryll Franklin Jr., Destiny Franklin, Sedara Baker, Theadora Williams, Sebation Pendleton and Safarii Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Hughley, Ky’Liyah Hughley, Kasen Jordan, Danny Leverette, Royal Winters, Royce Winters, Dario Ruffin, Mason Davis and Ma’Leeaa Edwards; sister, Linda Thomas of Flnt; brother, Bruce (Dorthy) Franklin of Pinson, TN; 3 nieces, Shaquanda Thomas, Deborah Thomas and Pamala Franklin; 2 nephews, Darren (Tangie) Franklin of Pinson, TN and Anthony Lewis of Flint; a host great-nieces and great-nephews including special great-nieces and nephews, Christopher, Corran, LaRace Clark of Illinois, Da’Nahay, Delainea, Damarion, DeShawn, Thomas, Xzavion, Gaddy, Marvin, Hardy (“Eyes” is what she called him; a host of cousins including special cousin, Milton (Gloria) Cason; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Greg Edwards, Sonya Embry, Ava Handy, and The Gospel Five (Raynette Conley) of Flint, MI. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Rose Franklin; Sharon Clark, Ceira Clark and Elnora Jeffries.
