SMITH, Mr. Curtis Leon Sr. - Age 72, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at Well Bridges of Grand Blanc. Family hour 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery , G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. Smith will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 2:00PM - 6:00PM Tuesday. Mr. Curtis Leon Smith Sr. was born August 29, 1948 in Rison, Arkansas, the son of Lester and Ruth Smith. Curtis was a graduate of Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1966.” He was a member of Tate Temple Church Of God In Christ in Rison, AR until he recently moved back to Flint, Michigan. Curtis retired from General Motors Corporation after of 30 years of service. After retirement Curtis worked as a Skycap at Clinton International Airport in Little Rock, AR. He loved his job as a Skycap and everyone who came in contact with him loved him. He met no strangers. Curtis loved planting flowers and watching them grow, gardening, fishing, cooking and spending time with his family. Mr. Curtis Leon Smith Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Joyce Smith of Little Rock, AR; daughters, Matika (Abdul) Fisher of Flint and Jovanna McFadden of Little Rock, AR; sons, Curtis L. Smith Jr. of Flint and Jeremiah Smith of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, LaQuan Walker of Flint, Brandy Walker of Romulus, MI, Tony Jones of Canton, MI, BreAisa Smith of Houston, TX and Malik Fisher; great-grandchildren, Paytin Walker, Paige Walker, Cannon Walker and Milo Fisher; sister, Norma Smith; brothers, Walsh Smith, Lester (Jean) Smith, Dennis Smith, Robert (Lavina) Smith and Eddie (Patricia) Smith; nieces, Latrice Smith, Tammi (Donta) Hampton, Tabitha (Gary) Wilson, all of Flint, Audrey Smith of Chicago, IL and Bianca Smith of Flint; nephews, Dennis Smith, Travis Smith, Drayton (Veleta) Smith, all of Flint, Les Smith of West Orange, NJ; aunts, Oris Hall of Flint and Jewel Whitney of Mississippi; uncle, Victor (Gladys) Powell of Flint; a host of cousins including special cousins, Betty Johnson and Stanley Johnson; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruth Smith; sisters-in-law, Vivian Smith and Dorthy Smith.
