NEWMAN, Mr. Corey - Age 46, passes away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Family hour 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 w. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Tuesday. Mr. Newman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during the family hour only.Corey Dialo Montez Newman, age 46 of Flint, Michigan graduated to Heaven Tuesday, February 01, 2022. Corey was baptized in 1981 by the late Rev R. E. Russell of Vernon Chapel AME of Flint, Michigan. Corey was born January 26, 1976 in Flint, Michigan.Corey was preceded in death by his mother, Arthur Ann Newman and father, Jesse Davis. Corey was a cherished sister to Demetria Smith and Amekia Newman, both of Hixson, TN. Corey leaves behind one half-sister and four half-brothers all of Flint, Michigan.Corey Dialo Montez Newman also leaves behind his grandmother, Athalene Clark of Flint; aunts, Nina Faye Stagger of Little Rock, AR, Dorothy Degefferd of Chicago, IL, Jewel Gant Cillian of Elgin, SC, Betty Gant Cole of Hartford, CA, and Junell (John) Breckenridge, Dermott, AR; uncles, J.T. (Gwen) Stevens of Dermott, AR, William (Loretta) Graham of Lake Village, AR, Elmer Lee (Linda) Clark of Houston, TX, Charlie (Patricia) Clark of Flint, MI, and Cornelius Degefferd of Wisconsin; great-aunt, Cecola Mozon of Oakland, California; great-uncle, Odell Clark of Flint, Michigan Corey is also survived by nieces: Jessica Labon and Jia-ya Vaughn, both of Hixson, TN; nephew, Jaylan Labon of Hixson, TN. Corey received a Special Diploma from Flint Southwestern Academy. He participated in a vocational program at Wolcott Cornerstone of Flint. Corey enjoyed long drives with his eldest sister. He loved listening to music, especially music with beat. Corey would not miss an opportunity to shop. He occasionally assisted with delivering water to church members. Corey had a love of drinking coffee and eating.
