HOLMES, Mr. Clifton Ladell - Age 48, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Michael Hairston officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Holmes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Clifton "CJ" Holmes, was born on January 10th, 1976, in Detroit, MI, and peacefully departed on January 29th, 2024, at the age of 48. CJ, a devoted family man with a passion for driving trucks, traveling the road, fixing things, barbecuing, and sports, will be dearly missed. One of the kindest, playful souls on this planet, CJ was a strong, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. Early in life, CJ learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his children. He was always there, whether it was to help with homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He taught the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. He was a true role model who we will always look up to. Mr. Clifton "CJ" Holmes is survived by his loving wife, Gulunda Holmes, and leaves behind his adored children Jazmine Robinson, and Janaiya Holmes, his two sons John Williams Jr., and Jaquan Robinson. CJ was a proud grandfather to Harlei Green, Ja’Kobe, Jayce, Aaleyah, and Jahne Williams. His love extends to his brother, Bruce Woods & His Road Dog Kano, along with a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. CJ is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Geanette Holmes, his father, Frank Holmes Jr., his uncle Peter Holmes, grandson Demarion Williams, and brothers, David Woods, and Willie “Beamer” Robinson III. While we mourn his passing, we hold onto the memories of CJ's infectious smile and his playful banter, which will forever echo in our hearts. Let us cherish the memories he leaves behind, knowing that his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
