JACKSON, Mother Cleodester - age 83, Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister made her transition on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center-Saginaw, MI. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Patrick W. Sanders, Sr. officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10 a.m. Monday. Mother Jackson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Flint, MI and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister made her transition on Monday, March 17, 2014. Cleodester Jackson was born to the late Frank and Odessie Lupper on February 13, 1931 in England, Arkansas. She married Thomas Jackson Sr. in 1948 and resided in Saginaw, MI. While living in Saginaw, Mrs. Jackson was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Flint, MI, she was a long time faithful member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church for over 40 years. Mrs. Jackson retired from J. L. Hudson Department Store Restaurant after 25 years as Head Cook. As an excellent cook, Mrs. Jackson was known for her southern cooking. She had a great sense of humor, an unforgettable laugh and a beautiful smile. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed being around her friends and family. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and shopping (she loved her hats). Mrs. Cleodester Jackson leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Mildred Jackson-Lampley, Sylvia Griffin, and Lee Reeves; two sons, Charles Jackson and Thomas Jackson Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five sisters, Juanita Lee, Pam Berry, Betty Campbell, Annie Lee Pope and Hildra Mae Baker; one brother, Henry (Rose) Adams Jr; special cousin, Mary Lee Stepps; one aunt, Ida Mae Bradley; one uncle, Arlandis Boone; sisters-in-law, Lavorn Burnes, Judy B. Jackson, Margaret Jackson, Ollie Mae (Eugene) Wright and Edithel Jackson; brother-in-law, Clarence (Catherine) Jackson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends, Barbara Kirkland and family, Mother Vernis Butts, Deacon Al and Vanessa Jones, Edna Elam, Elder Jeffrey and Jetta LaValley, Vera McMillan, Mother Lilly Stallings, Joe Brittain, Helen Lawler and Marjel Moore.
