MASTIN, Mr. Clarence Lee - Age 72, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Daniel Mastin officiating. interment Great Lakes National Cemetery G-4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Mastin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during family hour only from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday. Clarence Lee Mastin Sr. was born on December 18, 1951, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to Robert Lee Mastin Jr. and Cecilia Ann Strong Mastin. He resided in Flint, Michigan for an extended period. Clarence served as a Sergeant in the United States Army for 6 years, earning the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Service Medals. During his time in Germany, he completed training to become a Dental Specialist and furthered his education in various areas including Race Relations, Airborne, Ranger, Jungle Warfare, Drug and Alcohol Education, and Security Police. After his military service, he pursued an Associates degree in Business Management at Baker College. Mr. Mastin dedicated over 28 years to ensuring school safety at Flint Community Schools. He deeply cared for his children, family, and the young individuals he supported within the Flint Community schools. Clarence had a strong passion for research, staying informed on current events, expanding his knowledge, and writing. He was a respected and confident individual known for his kind heart. Clarence Lee Mastin Sr. is survived by his daughters, Clarice Mastin-King (Wilmer) of Dallas, Texas and Chalese L. Mastin of Atlanta, GA; son, Clarence Lee Mastin Jr.; grandchildren. Jaquez Mastin and Josiah Mastin, all of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by his sisters, Minnie Mastin, Loretta (William) Allen of Grand Blanc, MI; brother, Ronnie (Ida) Mastin of Flint, MI; nieces, Latasha (Terrence) Johnson of Flint Township, MI, Nicole Allen and Brittney (Luke Jr.) Jones; nephews, Ronnie (Jackie) Mastin Jr., Ryan (Camille) Mastin, all of Chicago, IL, Samuel Mastin of Southgate, Michigan, Daniel (Takisha) Mastin of Detroit, MI and David (Jennifer) Mastin of Murfreesboro, TN; aunts, Dezather Mastin, Gladys Simpson, and Cherry Mastin of Fayetteville, TN; and numerous cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Mastin Jr. and Cecilia Ann Mastin; grandparents, Robert Lee Mastin Sr., Rosie Elizabeth Mastin, John and Mary Lou Strong; uncles, Otha Mastin, John Thomas, Louis Thomas, Willie, James Strong, James Mastin and Elmer Mastin; aunts, Nan Lee Mastin, Shirley Dangerfield and Lois Dangerfield; cousins, Barbara Jones, Vickie Balknight and Melvin Mastin.
