Mr. Christopher Darron Smith

SMITH, Mr. Christopher Darron - Age 24, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, May 29, 2021 at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. Carl Baker, officiating, Pastor Paul Kirkpatrick, Eulogist. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Smith will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM -6:00 PM Friday, with the family present the entire time. Michigan, the son of Tonya and Robert Smith. Chris was a resident of Flint Twp., Michigan and graduated from Carman-Ainsworth High School, “Class of 2015.” He also attended Malone University in Akron, OH. Christopher was recently employed by Blue City Protection Co. and he spent 3 years at Flat Rock Manor. His hobbies and interests include, playing football, coaching, spending time with “Uncle Chris’ babies”, and spending time with family and friends. Football was everything to him. Christopher was a member of the Carman-Ainsworth High School Athletics Hall of Fame for his accomplishments with football. Currently he was coaching for Hamady High School’s track teams and is on the 2021 roster for the Flint Fury Football Team. He had a bright personality and an infectious smile. Christopher had a huge passion for teaching kids, mentoring, loving animals and giving back to the community. Honorable mention, his best friend and dog, Chapo Smith. Smith; 2 step-brothers, Jayce Williams, both of Pontiac, MI and Tre’Byon Green of Chicago, IL; 4 aunts, Crystal Cole of Flint, Tiffany (Jamal) Allen of Jersey City, NJ, Darlene Moore of Kansas City, MO and ShaKarri Charley of Detroit, MI; 2 uncles, Clarence D. Moore and Lance Harrison, both of Flint; cousins, Lanesia and Nakesha Jackson, both of Kansas City, MO, Cole Shields of Flint and Skielar Allen of Jersey City, NJ; god-mothers, Pearlie O'Neal and Kimberly Sykes; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ronnie Weissend, J-Rome Lyons, Anthony Gillarm, Josh Ellison, Deaundre Fuller, James Taylor, Cecil McLemore, Alice Gibson, Doron White and 2nd mom, Joyce Lyons. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robbie Dale and Eugene Cole; paternal grandfather, Charles Smith; paternal great-grandfather, Robert Denson; maternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Daisy Moore; and uncle, James Percy Moore Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Flint Township Police and Fire Department, Oakland County Sheriff Department, Carman-Ainsworth High School staff and the community, the Millender family and Coach Nate Williams.
