EVANS-MARKS, Mrs. Christa (Bell) - Age 68, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at her residence. Family hour 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at El-Bethel Ministries, 3248 Mackin Rd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 12Noon. Pastor Robert Allen officiating, Pastor Danyiel Griffin, Host Pastor. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Marks will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Christa B. Evans-Marks was born December 1, 1942 in West Point, Mississippi, the daughter of Sadie Barr and the late James Farmer. Christa attended Flint Public Schools, Roosevelt, Old Emerson Junior High School and Central High School. She was a licensed Beautician graduating from Michigan School of Cosmetology. Christa was also a licensed foster care mother for many years and a licensed nursing assistant. She was employed at Hurley Medical Center in the Laundry Department for 15 years, before coming out on disability. Christa was a fun person with people she liked. She loved reading, going fishing, playing cards, and having fun with her family before her health deteriorated. Christa was also an avid seamstress. She leaves to cherish her memory: only child, Alyse L. Evans Lathon (fiancé, Stanley Beard) of Flint; grandchildren, Mchicha K., Aquante, Porsche and Paris, all of Flint; great-grandchildren, Quantisia, Tia, Aquante Jr., Skye, Taylor, Nakira and Sadie Barr; 3 sisters, special sister, Pearl Lee of Flint, Virginia Brumley and Virginia McBride, both of Chicago, IL, 2 brothers, Donnie Bell of Flint, Sinnie Bell of Minneapolis, MN; host of nieces including special nieces, Tamara Barnes of Miami, FL and Felicia Haynes; a host of nephews; aunts, Lois Simpson of Omaha, NE; host of cousins including special cousin, Barbara Kemp of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mary Landsdown, Sherry Bell, Sharon Stewart, fiancé, and longtime companion, Mr. Larry Burks. Mrs. Evans-Marks was preceded in death by his father, James Farmer.
