Mr. Charles Edward Wells

WELLS, Mr. Charles - Age 76, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday, August 15, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Patrick Sanders II officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM. Mr. Wells will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed Thursday, from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mr. Charles Wells was born March 12, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Eld. Samuel and Ruby Toles Wells. Charles was a resident of Flint and a graduate of Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1968.” He worked at Farmer Jack Groceries (formerly A & P) as Store Manager for over 25 years. Charles attended Mott College majoring in Business Management. Mr. Wells loved watching and discussing sports, lecturing and teaching everyone. He also loved reading magazines, books and collecting collectibles. Mr. Wells was known for being a gentle giant, but he was straight forward. Mr. Charles Wells leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Kristine (Stacy) Runnels of Mt. Morris, MI; 3 step-children, Lorraine Haralson of Flint, Selester Taylor of Fort Worth, TX, Leda (Dionje) Evans of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Krystal Brand of Flint, Dushonn Lamar of Mt. Morris, MI, Ernest Lamar of Burton, MI, Stacy Runnels Jr. of Warren, MI, Stahaun Runnels, Shatara Runnels and Devin Runnels, all of Mt. Morris, MI; 8 great-grandchildren, Saniya Wells, Johuan, Imani, Dorri (Graham), all of Mt. Morris, MI, Demarco Runnels, Monterio Runnels, Lauren Runnels and Aylah Runnels; a host of cousins including special cousins, Mary Toles Brice of Oklahoma, Bobby Kay of Saginaw, Mi, Jimmie Wells and the Wells family of Flint MI; best friend, Freddie Hutson Sr.; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Freda Cooper of Flint. Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his grandson, Jovaun Wells; parents, Eld. Samuel and Ruby Toles Wells; cousins Homer and Della Wells, and best friend, Edward Earl Stanley Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Dushonn Lamar, Lisa Ray, Stahaun Runnels, Devin Runnels, Aaliyah Haralson, EMT Services and Mt.
