GRANT, Ms. Cassandra - Age 53, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Alphonso Williams officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Friday. Ms. Grant will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. Ms. Cassandra Grant age 53 departed this life Friday, January 24, 2014. She was born April 22, 1960 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Bernard and Loretta Grant. Cassandra accepted Christ at an early age. She was a graduate of Northwestern High School and received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Jordon College. She retired from Hurley Medical Center after working 26 years, retiring in September 2013. Ms. Grant was a beautiful and compassionate person. She enjoyed shopping, movies and spending time with her family. Ms. Cassandra Grant leaves to cherish her memory: devoted mother, Loretta Grant; 2 sisters, Daphne Grant and Bernadette (Calvin) Coleman, all of Flint; 2 nephews, Brandon Grant and Calvin Coleman Jr.; 7 aunts, Rev. Bernadine G. McRipley of Levittown, PA, Louella Wynn, Louise Ray, Lovie McGaughy, Virginia Berry, Margree Alexander and Onie Jean Wynn. 3 uncles, Thomas (Louise) Bell, Mack Wynn and Arch Bibbs Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Cassandra Grant was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Grant; sister, Michelle Grant; grandparents, Rufus Grant, Emma Bell, Mack and Belvie Wynne. Cassandra will be missed and loved by all that are left behind. We thank God for sharing her with us. Death leaves heartaches only God can heal, Love leaves a memory that even death cannot steal. The family of Ms. Cassandra Grant wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during our time of bereavement. Knowing that one day, everyone will cross the same threshold. It is comforting to know that in our time of need, there are special people like you.
