Carol Peery

PEERY, Mrs. Carol - Age 56, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 26, 2012. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at New Community Baptist Church, 1375 Lavender Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Ray Smith, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Peery will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Carol Peery was born December 1, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Louis “Rico” Lynn and Mary Louise Lynn. Carol accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a young adult and was on fire for God ever since. She loved the Lord very much and served Him faithfully until she was called home to be with Him. Carol graduated from Southwestern High School and attended Flint Bible Institute, where she received her Bible Certificate. She loved sharing the Gospel with others. Carol taught Sunday School class for women at New Community Baptist Church. Her faith and love for the Lord never wavered during her illness. Everyone around Carol knew that she loved the Lord and was going to Heaven. She was very creative and wrote poetry very well. Carol enjoyed playing Farmville, shopping, being a homemaker and spending time with her family. She was a loving, dedicated and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Carol Peery leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 32 years, Raymond Peery; 2 daughters, Alisha (Andre) Williams and Rachel Peery; 2 grandchildren, Andre and Aaron Williams; mother, Mary Louise Lynn; 4 sisters, Shirley Lynn, all of Flint, Evelyn Hightower of North Hollywood, CA, Kim (Joe) Peters of Suwanee, GA and Crystal Hester of Flint; 2 brothers, Tyrone (Wanda) Lynn of Auburn Hills, MI and Terrence Lynn of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Peery was preceded in death by her father, Louis “Rico” Lynn; grandmother, Maxine Eddy; and aunt, Dorothy McEwen. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Genesys Home Hospice, Dr. Junck and U of M Ann Arbor Oncology staff, Dr. Lawrence and U of M Ann Arbor Radiology staff, Dr. Jackson and staff, Dr. Norrell and staff, New Community Baptist Church Family, New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church family and her sister, Shirley Lynn.
