Mr. Carl Eugene Coleman

COLEMAN, Mr. Carl Eugene - Age 79, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Medilodge of Grand Blanc, MI. Mr. Coleman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Mr. Carl Eugene Coleman age 79, was born May 13, 1940 in Cairo, Illinois, one of six children born to Willie Mae and Bruce Coleman. Upon the death of his mother, Carl was sent to live with his aunt, Eddie Mae Dossie and was raised as one of her children throughout his childhood. As a young adult, Carl left Cairo, IL and moved to Toledo, OH to work construction. It was in Toledo that he met his wife of 44 years, Virginia. In 1969, Carl moved his wife and daughters to Flint, Michigan, where he was hired at Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation. He remained employed there until his illness forced his retirement in 1996. Carl spent the next 20 years residing at Heartland Healthcare-Fostrian, and the last two months of his life at Medilodge of Grand Blanc, where he passed away on March 11, 2020. Mr. Carl Eugene Coleman leaves to cherish his memory: 4 daughters, Carla (Charles) Jackson of Houston, TX, Teresa (Larry) Sanders, Ebony (Kevin) Palmer, all of Flint and Erneisha (Undre) Lay of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren, ShaRonda, Antonio, Larry, Phillip, Jonaya, E’Kira, Ka’lin, Key’vion, Ahmire and Brandon; 3 great-grandchildren, Keion, Vontae and Phillip Jr.; 3 sisters, Shirley, Stein and Darlene Coleman; brother, Clarence Dossie, all of Cairo, IL; a host of other relatives including in-laws, Otha (Verbie) Hunter, Brenda Hunter and Herbert McClellan; nieces and nephews, Deborah, Albert, Renee, Tracy, Dawn, Herbert, Candice, Nicole, Kim, Kay, Charae, Kellie, Shellie and all of their children; a host of friends including special friends, Alberta Hopings, Erica Stocker, Betty (Sherwood) Pea, Gerlene Johnson, Janet Veal, Vanessa Travis, Gardell, Frank and the entire Haralson family, Sherrie Tyler, Rita Burton, friends from Heartland, Jody, Sheryl, Sandra Emery and Mrs. Graydene. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Coleman; grandson, Deondrae Buford; parents, Willie Mae and Bruce Coleman Sr.; sisters, Magnolia Lewis and Dorothy Jean Mosley; brothers, Wallace, Alester and Bruce Coleman; nieces, Arlene Cannon and Carlene Boone. The family would like to express our thanks to Heartland-Fostrian, Medilodge of Grand Blanc and to all who called, visited and prayed for us and with us. We would also like to thank Lawrence E. A single indoor shared space includes but is not limited to a room, hall, cafeteria, auditorium, theater, or gallery. The prohibition on assemblages set forth in this section does not apply to: The prohibition set forth in this section does not abridge protections guaranteed by the state or federal constitution under these emergency circumstances.
