Mr. Bradford Johnson

JOHNSON, Mr. Bradford - Age 61, answered God's call back unto Himself, Monday, January 14, 2013 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday during family hour only. Mr. Bradford Johnson began this earthly journey on November 9, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Reola Mims. He grew up there and attended Custer Elementary School and Post Junior High, before moving to Flint in 1969. Bradford attended Central High School and later Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He was employed by Service Solutions in Great Lakes Crossing Mall in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Bradford was united in marriage to Mary Read, June 4, 1985. To this union three children were born. He enjoyed grilling outside, fishing and playing dominoes. Mr. Bradford “Big Brad” Johnson leaves to cherish sweet memories: wife of 27 years, Mary Johnson; 3 sons, Robert Read, Ralphael (Andrea) Read and Bradford Duane Johnson, all of Flint; 3 daughters, Shantell (Dana) Streur of Holland, MI, Shantia (Ulysses) Brown, Jr., and Shanelle Johnson, all of Flint; 14 grandchildren; brother, Anthony Johnson Bey of Muskegon, MI; 3 sisters, Varline Fuller of Flint, Quintina Johnson of Phoenix, AZ and Monica Roach of Muskegon, MI; aunt, Maggie L. Farrior of Muskegon, MI; sister-in-law, Sarah Riley of Flint; brother-in-law, Theolis Hinton of Chicago, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends, Ronnie, Dwight, Bob, Mason, Alfred, Dozier and Daryl. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother; 2 brothers, Lennon and Duane Johnson; niece, Rhonda Mims; nephew, Lennon Johnson, Jr.; and brother-in-law, David Amos. The family expresses special thanks to 5th Floor ICU of McLaren-Flint, Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family.
