Betty Rosborough

ROSBOROUGH, Mrs. Betty Jane - Age 83, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1309 N. Ballenger Hwy., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Dr. Rev. Tara Sutton officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Thursday. Mrs. Rosborough will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Wednesday. Mrs. Betty Jane Rosborough was born July 19, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of William Luther and Sallie Mae (McClellan) Reed. The family moved to Flint in 1926. Betty Jane attended Flint Public Schools. She worked at the Women's Hospital and was then hired by General Motors, working at A.C. Spark Plug and Fisher Body Coldwater Road, where she retired with 30 years of service. Betty Jane joined Bethel United Methodist Church in her youth where she remained a member her entire life. She served on numerous committees and boards. Betty Jane married Thomas Rosborough on July 20, 1947. On July 20, 2007, Betty Jane and Thomas celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Betty Jane loved to travel and shop. She loved the LORD and she loved and cherished Thomas. Mrs. Betty Jane Rosborough leaves to cherish her memory: devoted husband, Thomas E. Rosborough of Mt. Morris; 2 sisters, Edith Belew of Flint and Ruby (Arthur) Houston of Litchfield Park, AZ; brother, Albert (Ida) Reed, Sr., of Rochester Hills, MI; brother-in-law, Carl (Velma) Rosborough of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and cousins, including special cousins, Joan Van Hurley and Laura Hill; and special friends, Clarence and Almarie Ryans. Mrs. Rosborough was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sallie Reed; brother, William Reed, Jr.; sister, Ernestine Reed; brothers-in-law, Archie Belew and Owen Rosborough; sister-in-law, Gertrude Rosborough; father-in-law, Primes Rosborough; step father-in-law, Clifford Taylor; mother-in-law, Georgia Rosborough-Taylor; cousin, Vincent Van Hurley; niece, Arnetta Griffin; nephew, Albert Reed, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Lawrence E.
