Ms. Betty Ann Buggs

BUGGS, Ms. Betty - Age 63, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 12 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 Chippewa St., with funeral service commencing at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Jacob Hawkins officiating. Interment Sunset Hill Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12 p.m. Thursday. Ms. Betty will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday. Ms. Betty Ann Buggs was born April 10, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Dentson and Hattie Mae Buggs. She attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Choir and a proud Matron. Betty was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. She was retired from GCCARD, where she worked for the Meals on Wheels Program. Betty enjoyed going to play Bingo, watching her favorite cooking shows and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed Cross-Word Puzzles and putting together puzzles. Betty was a very fun loving individual that loved her grandchildren. Ms. Betty Ann Buggs leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Tamika January and Artina Buggs; 2 sons, Glen Buggs and Larry Buggs all of Flint; 8 grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Nicole January, Komari Buggs, Nybria Buggs, Jalen Buggs, Manyaa Buggs, Kayla Buggs and Jaeshoun Buggs, all of Flint; parents, Dentson and Hattie Mae Buggs; 3 sisters, Deborah (Harold) Peterson, Linda Milow and Doris Buggs; 7 brothers, James Williams, Dentson Ray Hamilton, Curtis Buggs, Lonnie Buggs, Jessie Buggs, Robert Buggs and Ricky (Montray) Buggs; a host of nieces and nephews; aunt, Mildred Buggs of Flint; 2 uncles, Javan (Canary) Buggs of Richmond, CA and Morris Buggs of Dallas, TX; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Beverly Woods and god-son, Steven Horton. Ms. Buggs was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gladys Hamilton; 3 sisters, Mildred Crump, Frances Holmes and Eleanor Buggs; 2 brothers, Franklin and Ronald Buggs; 4 nephews, Floyd Hamilton, Marcus Buggs, Tyrese Buggs and Tori Scott. The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice of Michigan and Hurley Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.
