JOHNSON, Mrs. Bettie Jean - Age 68, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd. with funeral service commencing at 12 p.m. Interment Sunset Hills Association, 4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Bettie Jean Johnson was born November 11, 1946 in Jackson, Mississippi. The daughter of Mr. Edward and Mrs. Mable (Bolden) Buckner. She was raised in Flint, MI where she was a past member of Ebenezer Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Urundi B. Knox, Sr. Bettie Jean was a laborer at Diamond Cleaners of Downtown Flint and Exclusive. She enjoyed spending time with her family at gatherings, especially with her grandchildren. Bettie loved clothing giveaway's and traveling. Mrs. Bettie Jean Johnson leaves to cherish her memory the father of her children, Rev. Norse P. Johnson; daughter, Jacqueline “Niecey” (fiancée, Andre) August of Katy, TX; sons, Bruce Bolden of Sydney, Australia, Norse “Kenyatta” (LaToya) of Haltom City, TX, Mario (ShaQuintia) Johnson of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Jonah and Cairo Bolden of Sydney, Australia, Bryce August of Katy, TX, ShaBriya and ShaMari of Hampton, VA; sisters, Maggie “Dobie” Bolden of Raymond, MS, Janice (Dwayne) Bolden of Chicago, IL; brothers, Bryant, Eddie and Raymond Bolden; a host of nieces including special nieces, Nicole and Porsha Fluker, Shae Kelly, Andrea “Ouida” Thompson, Dionne Williams and Yvette “Douchant” Shelby; a host of nephews and aunts including special aunt, Nellie Mae Willis of Flint, MI; a host of uncles and cousins including special cousins, Percy Knapp Jr., James “Homer” Knapp, Esther Vanderson, Lee Knapp, Rondy “Ron” Knapp, Marcie “Tonie” Moore, and Rev. T. Alexander Knapp; sisters-in-law, Starlet Kelly and Robin Thompson; brother-in-law, Edward S. Vanderson; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Erma Bolden, Vanessa Morrison, Sandra Wells; neighbors Tracy Poplar and Andrew; god-daughters, Arisha Wells and Jada Coleman; special kids, Stafford Howard Jr., Sonya Turner, Sonia D. Bettie Jean was preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Mable (Buckner) Bolden; grandparents, Charlie and Annie Bell Gorden Hooper; sister, Annie Laura B. Williams; brother, Marvin Bolden Sr.; nephew, Terience Demont’e Johnson; cousins, Larry Donnell Bolden and “Lil” Lee Knapp. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Patrick A.
