ROBINSON, Mrs. Barbara W. - Age 81, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at Living Word Ministries, 2001 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Bishop Roger L. Jones officiating, Eld. Kirk Whitmore, Host Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Robinson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Barbara W. Robinson was born January 18, 1930 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Willie and Sadie O. Mabry. Barbara attended Flint Central High School. She was employed at SPO, a division of General Motors, retiring after 40 years of service. Barbara enjoyed working in her yard and going to the casino. She traveled with her family to Spain, Africa, Belgium and Paris, France with joy. Barbara also traveled on various shopping trips and numerous events. Cooking for family was her passion of love from her heart. Mrs. Barbara Robinson leaves to cherish her memory: godson, Arquise Burkett; 2 sisters, Constance (McKinley) Wilkes and Andrea Knight; 2 brothers, Moses Mabry and Marvin (Evone) Mabry; nieces, Barbara Taylor Brown, Kirsten, Kimberly, Ashley, Taylor, Andrea, Olivia, DeBrakar, Kye and Tremaine; nephews, Michael, Anthony, Andre, Lance, Trevor, Todd, Christopher, Markus, Justin, Nicholas, Troy, Isaiah, Mathew, Michael, Kemarji, Markus, Xavier, Christian and Noah; cousins, Alfred Brazell, Sandra Cavette, Marie McBrayer, Lula Phillips, Caroline Brazell, Ellen Gist and Lorraine; a host of other relatives and friend including special friends, The Grant Street Families. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by daughter, Bronna Sue; parents, Willie and Sadie Mabry; grandparents, George and Ella Mabry and James and Mary Douglas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mabry.
