Mrs. Audrey Darlene Blassingame-Rogers

ROGERS-BLASSINGAME, Mrs. Audrey Darlene - Age 60, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with Funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd. Mrs. Rogers will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 Noon - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Audrey Darlene (Blassingame) Rodgers was born September 4, 1942 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Eunice Gay and Berry Blassingame. Audrey resided in Flint, Michigan her entire life. She was employed by Hurley Medical Center for many years. She attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Central High School, “Class of 1970.” Audrey was a long time member of North Star Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, Bingo, music and spending time with her family and friends. Audrey also enjoyed helping others. She leaves to cherish her memory: 9 children, Tina L. Bates of Flint, Eugene Bates of Newark, NJ, Tawanna Bates of Aurora, IL, Toby Bates of Newark, NJ, Tonya Bates, Berry Blassingame II, Sherry Blassingame and Robin Rodgers, all of Flint; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step father, Cleophas Gay; sisters, Diane Blassingame and Nina Renee Gay; 5 nieces, Tammy Blassingame, Janelle Robinson, Caresa Waters, Angelic Waters and special niece, Audrey Gay; sisters-in-law, Janet Robinson and Ann Waters; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousins, Ada Waters and Rodney Blassingame and special friend, Beverly. Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rodgers, daughter, Tisha Bates; father, Barry Blassingame; mother, Eunice Gay; brothers, Lendale Waters and Michael Blassingame; and great grandmother, Sarah Waters. The family would like to express the sincere gratitude to all of you for your prayers, presence, love, telephone calls, telegrams and all other expressions of concern that you have shown during their time of bereavement.
