Mrs. Altheda Fisher

FISHER, Mrs. Altheda W. - Age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with a Memorial Service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor DeQuan Ford, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Saturday, March 29, 2025. Altheda W. Fisher was born November 11, 1938, in Marianna, Arkansas, the youngest of 7 children born to William Thomas Walton and Darthula Winfield. She also grew up in Marianna and later became a resident of Flint, Michigan for sixty-seven years. Altheda was a member of Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Alfred L. Robbs, after his passing she attended House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Stewart and now Pastor DeQuan Ford. She was a graduate of Mott Community College where she majored in Music Education. Altheda was also a graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint and held a Bachelor Degree. She was employed with Flint Community Schools; she was also a Cosmetologist and a local voice Instructor. Altheda went to Salzburg, Germany and Strasbourg, France and traveled throughout Europe with her vocal coach, Carolyn Aldrich. She sang different languages. Altheda was active with the Flint Symphony Orchestra and The Masters Singers, the Highlights Gospel Chorus, and the St. Celia Music Society. She was an outstanding resident of the Flint Community, and she was noted in the archives of the city. She loved planting her beautiful flowers and keeping her yard immaculate. Altheda was a classy lady, she liked antiques, traveling out West, and she loved German Shepherds. Altheda W. Fisher leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Gregory Charles Fisher and Barron K. Fisher; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Bobbie Walton; and a host of other relatives and friends including Susan Patell, Brenda and Earl Bryant, Mammie Owens, Nancy Dahle, Charlene Finley, Sheryl King; adopted daughter, Tammie Henderson, Cliff Gordon, Leon Martin and Mayor Orader from Marriana, Arkansas. Altheda was preceded in death by Carrie Clark, William Thomas Walton, Jr., Gwendolyn Edwards, Olander (O.G.) Gladys Walton and Stevia Walker. The family would like to express special thanks to Doctor Khoulani, Jamoul Hummoud, Yaseen Nephrology, Staff at Discount Pharmacy, Dr. Singer and Dr. Reiser, Radiation McLaren, Regency of Gran Blanc Rehab, Don from Culligan Water, Meals on Wheels, Especially the Vavigne Home they really made our mothers comfortable, CAN Amanda Harris, Chase Bank – Kim, Dr. Karen Weaver, Mayor Shelton Neely and Moon Funeral Home.
