Ms. Alleyne Patsy Murray

MURRAY, Ms. Alleyne Patsy - Age 74, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday. Ms. Murray will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. There will be no public viewing. The soul of another saint is now in the bosom of Almighty God, in the person of Alleyne Patsy Murray. She began on this journey of life on June 5, 1941 in Washington, D.C., and ended on Monday, July 20, 2015. Alleyne was the daughter of Theodore Brown, Sr. and Alleyne Taylor. She grew up in Washington, D.C., attending public schools there. Alleyne moved to Flint in 1968, and became employed with the Board of Education, and teaching at Dewey, Dort and Bunch Elementary schools; retiring after 32 years of service. She also was an Avon representative for 18 years. Her Christian journey began after she accepted Christ, and was baptized by the late, Pastor Granville Smith. Alleyne was active in several ministries, including, the Mission, Church School, Usher and Security in Ministry, faithfully serving in all until her health prevented her active duty. She leaves to cherish sweet memories: 2 sons: William “Bo” (Yvette) Murray of Washington, D.C. and Cedric (T’amee) Johnson of Flint; daughter, Monica Murray of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Anton Wilson of Flint, Tyeesha Miller of Washington, D.C., Taylor Wilson of Flint; 2 brothers, Clee Brown, of Washington, D.C. and Arthur (Margaret) Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Marie Washington of Flint, a host of other relatives and friends, including nieces and nephews; a host of godchildren including, Corlius Brownlee and Camesha Jackson, all of Flint, play sister, Emma (BaySis) King of Washington, D.C., and special friends Johnnie Blair, Callie Miller, Carla Elbert, Bobbi Collins, Willie Mae Hopson, Bessie Brandon and the Mt. Calvary Church family.
