Mr. Albert Strong

STRONG, Mr. Albert - Age 92, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Majestic Care Skilled Nursing Facility, Flushing, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2023, at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Strong will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mr. Albert Strong was born June 1, 1930 in Lake Dick, Arkansas, the oldest child of Johnnie and Susie Miles. Albert moved to Flint, Michigan in 1953, and he met and married his late wife, Arneather, a marriage that lasted 52 years. He was a hard worker for Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation for 39 years before retiring in 1992. Mr. Strong was a quiet, responsible friend and father. He enjoyed his family. Mr. Strong was “Dad”, “Daddy”, and “Han-Han” to his granddaughter, Angelia, who could not say, Gran Dad. Albert professed Christ at an early age and was a longtime faithful member of the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Senior Usher Ministry. Mr. Albert Strong leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Marsha Giddens, Brenda Strong, both of Flint, Debra Watkins of Dallas, TX and Melanie Russell of Clarksville, TN; son and caregiver, Anthony Koger of Flint; 10 granddaughters, Angelia Koger, Ashley and Amber Patterson, Kimona, Cameesha, Tomeka Mitchell, Rashawn and Laurene Elliott, Evelyn Strong and Kakayla Watkins; 4 grandsons, Teon Mitchell, Bryan (Kemisha) Rison, Gene Gill and Lance (Breana) Watkins; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Willie Mae Martin of Pine Bluff, AR, Dorothy Merkson of St. Louis, MO and Mable Norwood (Melvin) of Broadview, IL; longtime brother/friend, Lee Willie (Helen) Hayman; and sister-in-law, Gloria Miles; a host of nieces and nephews including special caregiver niece, Sheila Hayman; god-son, Robert Turner. Mr. Strong was preceded in death by his wife, Arneather Strong; son, Michael Strong; daughter, Gwen Rison; brother, Ollie Miles, Roosevelt Miles and Johnnie Miles; brother-in-law, Leevan Hayman; sisters, Rosie Mae, Berthell and Atkinson; sister-in-law, Lillie Hayman; father, Willie Strong; and dear friend, Woody Haynesworth.
