Mr. Albert Elliott Sr.

ELLIOTT, SR., Mr. Albert - Age 82, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Reginald G. Flynn officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. Elliott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Albert Henry Elliott, Sr. was born March 3, 1931 in Huntsville, Alabama, the son of James and Bessie (Lansden) Elliott. Albert was a resident of Flint. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing, a division of General Motors in 1985 and was a member of UAW Local 599. He was a member of the Golden Trumpets Gospel Group and a member of Douglas Tabernacle Church of Huntsville, AL. He was a master gardener; give him a seed and he’d grow anything. Mr. Albert Henry Elliott, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Shirley Temple (Hamlett) Elliott; Albert Junior Elliott, Vivian Miller, Eunice Elliott (Andre), all of Flint and Ralph Eugene (Mattie) Elliott; 18 grandchildren, Andrea Elliott of Flint, Joseph (Raven) Elliott, of Houston, TX, Antoinette (Gary) Woods of Stone Mountain, GA, Alex Andra (Marcellus) Wade of North Carolina, Ladrena Williams of Dallas, TX, Darius Elliott , David Powell, both of Flushing, MI, Camesha (Albert) Robertson, Flint, MI, Sierra Coleman, Alize Coleman, both of Flint, Nekesha Elliott, Laurene Elliott, Rashawn Elliott, both of Flint, Kenneth Folston, Melinda Barber and Ashley Marsh, all of Pulaski, TN, Vaughn Elliott and Aireon Elliott, both of Flint; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James W. (Evelyn) Elliott of Louisville, KY and Phillip Elliott of Huntsville, AL; 2 brothers-in-law, Ommie Lee Hamlett of Chicago, Il and John (Dorothy) Hamlett of Huntsville, AL; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Charles Anderson, Wilbur Woods and Leon (Charlene) Winborn. Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his daughter, Alma Louise Elliott; son, Joseph Alan Elliott; parents, James and Bessie (Lansden) Elliott; 1 sister; 2 brothers; and mother and father-in-law, Robert and Novella (Hawk) Hamlett. The family would like to express special thanks to his godson, William (Emma) Epps III.
