DIXON-MOSLEY, Mrs. Shirley Ann - Age 76, passed away, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Atrium Health Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Greater Holy Temple Church of God In Christ, G-6702 N. Dort Hwy., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Bishop Roger L. Jones, Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Dixon-Mosley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Monday. Mrs. Shirley Ann (LeFlore) Dixon-Mosley was born May 13, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, the 9th child of William and Evie Mae (Smyers) LeFlore. Shirley was a resident of Charlotte, NC for the past 18 years, originally from Flint. She attended Flint Community Schools, Lowell Jr. High, Flint Central High School and graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1964.” Shirley married Roosevelt Dixon Sr. in February of 1971 and from that union 2 children were born, Nena Cheir Dixon in 1970 and Velencia Lynette Dixon in 1974. She was employed at Flint Community Schools in the Head Start Program from 1977 until she retired in 1995. Shirley married Melvin Mosley in 1995 and was happily married until his death in 1998. She attended Greater Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ from 1970 until she moved to Charlotte, NC in 2003. Upon moving to Charlotte she joined Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Darryl A. White and Pastor Shirlene White. Shirley enjoyed cooking, playing cards, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Shirley Ann Dixon-Mosley leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Nena Butler and Velencia Dixon, both of Charlotte, NC; step-son, Andre (Rhonda) Dixon of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Kiairra Dixon, Jaylen Dixon and Charee Butler, all of Charlotte, NC; 2 sisters, Geneva Fuller and Elenora LeFlore; 2 brothers, Bobby (Mildred) LeFlore and Archie LeFlore, all of Flint; 12 nieces; 8 nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Charlene Jenkins and Brenda Neely of Charlotte, NC; god-daughters, Donisha Dixon, Lakesha Bonner, Taqusha Bonner and Angie Lee, Mrs. Dixon-Mosley was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Mosley; son, Roosevelt Dixon Jr.; parents, William and Evie LeFlore; grandparents, Wilson and Florence LeFlore; sisters, Mary McTiztic and Eva Bowen; brothers, Norman, Roy, Eugene, Haskell, Hershel and James D. LeFlore; and best friend of over 50 years, the late Floree Tolbert.
