TABRON-JOHNSON, Mrs. Sammie Ella - Age 89, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, November 12, 2021 at House of Prayer Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Kenneth Stewart, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Tabron-Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Sammie Ella Johnson was born December 15, 1931 in Crawford, Mississippi, the daughter of Maggie and Jimmie Martin. Mrs. Sammie went home to be with her Lord on November 4, 2021, peacefully at Hurley Medical Center with her daughter, Nina, grandsons, Terell and James (Danielle), great-granddaughter, A’Miracle, all right by her side. She was a dedicated worker at Chevrolet, a division of General Motors Corporation and Summit Elementary School and other places. Sammie was a member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated Deaconess for years. She enjoyed music especially her Blues, and she loved her TV shows, Law & Order and the Chrisley Know’s Best Show. Sammie enjoyed being in her yard working with her flowers. She was very supportive with family and was always giving with open arms. Sammie was know as the feisty one that had no hesitation in saying what she had to say and would cuss you out. She truly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her baby sister, Marie (they were so funny together). It’s hard saying goodbye, but the sweet memories will last forever and always. Mrs. Sammie E.. Tabron-Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Nina (Bruce) Richardson of Flint; son, Gale (Angela) Tabron of Kalamazoo, MI; 8 grandchildren, Jermaine (Kesa) Tabron of Syracuse, Utah, Terell Grady, James (Danielle) Phillips, Denzel Grady, all of Flint, Malcolm Wilson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Joshua Tabron of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Tamika Hatter of Melissa, Texas and Quiana Tabron of Detroit, Michigan; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Martin of Flint; a host of special nieces; a host of nephews including very special favorite nephew, Tony Ernest and special nephews, Kenneth Martin, James Martin Jr. of Los Angeles, California and William Ernst of Flint; a host of friends including special friends, Ms. Barbara Graham, Barbara Wilkerson, Doris Matthews and a very special friends, Vicky Berry her caregiver that had a special bond; a host of special family members; god-son, Billy Arbor who was like a grandson to her. He’s part of our family; special family member, her one and only son-in-law, Bruce Richardson whom she loved so very much and her one only daughter-in-law, Angela whom she also loved so very much and was crazy about; God-daughter, Lisa Wilkerson whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Tabron-Johnson was preceded in death by husband, Walter Johnson; daughter, Cynthia Tabron-Bell; her parents, Maggie and Jimmie Martin; 2 sisters, Jimmy Ernest and Edna Jetter; 2 brothers, James Martin and Jimmy Martin; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; 2 great-nephews; ex-husband, Robert Tabron; and best friend, Virginia Brown.
