COOPER, Mr. Porter Lee - Age 75, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Allen Overton, Officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Mr. Porter “Butch” Lee Cooper was born December 5, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late B.C. and Mamie Lee Cooper. Porter passed away February 22, 2022, at his residence. Although he had no children of his own, he held a special place in the hearts of his numerous nieces and nephews. As a veteran he served his country in the Vietnam War and was formerly employed by General Motors Corporation. He enjoyed BBQing, working in the yard and spending time with friends and family. Even though he has left this world, his spirit lives on in the memory of his family. Mr. Porter “Butch” Lee Cooper is survived by: youngest brother, George Cooper Sr. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents B.C. and Mamie Lee Cooper; sister, Regina Cooper; brothers, Wardell L. Cooper, Bennie L. Cooper, Willie B. Cooper Sr., B.C. Cooper Jr., and Jim L. Cooper Sr.; sister-in-law, Earselene Cooper; nephews, James Coleman, Bennie Cooper Jr., Willie B. Cooper Jr. and Ronney Thedford III.
