RICHARDSON, Mr. Paul Sr. - Age 74, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Ascensioin-Genesys. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at New Life Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C., 5149 N. Bray Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Supt. Dion Richardson, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Richardson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Paul Richardson Sr. aka “Penny” was born December 15, 1947 in Tribbett, Mississippi, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Howard and Mary (Wallace) Richardson. He moved to Flint, Michigan at the age of 20 years old. Paul was employed as a Production Worker at Buick Motors, a division of General Motors for over 30 years and was a member of UAW Local #599. He enjoyed life to the fullest, watching sports with his family and friends. Paul also enjoyed dancing and would have a line of ladies waiting to groove with him at every party. He especially loved family and had a special way of making each family member feel special. Paul was also the family historian and some type of way support and touch each member of the family. When communicating with Paul, be prepared for a long conversation full of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Mr. Paul Richardson Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: loving son, Paul Richardson Jr; 2 adorable grandchildren, Amiyah R. Richardson, Layla N. Richardson; brother, Emmett (Priscilla) Richardson Sr of Flint, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Odessa Richardson of St. Louis, MO, Ruby Richardson of Sacramento, CA and Bessie Lee Richardson of Greenville, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary (Wallace) Richardson; 2 sisters, Chloe T. Gibson of Flint and Mary V. Lee of Greenville, MS; 5 brothers, Willie Robinson of Flint, RT Richardson of Greenville, MS, Charles “Bo” Richardson of St. Louis, MO, James “Skeet” Richardson of Sacramento, CA and Percy “Billy” Richardson of Flint, MI; 2 brother-in-law, James Gibson Sr of Flint, MI and Calvin Lee of Miami FL.
