SIMMONS, Mrs. Patricia -Age 80, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, January 31, 2022, from Word of Life Christian Church, 460 W. Atherton Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. George Wilkinson Host Pastor, Min. Donnie Benion officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Monday. Mrs. Simmons will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday.Mrs. Patricia Ann (Grace) Simmons was born January 6, 1942 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Mary Grace. Patricia grew up in Muskegon Heights, MI and attended Muskegon Heights Public Schools and graduated from Pontiac Central High School in Pontiac, MI. She was a devoted wife and mother of five children. Patricia was a long-standing member of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield, MI.Patricia Ann Simmons departed this life on January 26, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Patricia is survived by: children, William (Cheryl) Payton of Mt. Morris, MI, Cynthia (Kevin) McKenzie of Grand Blanc, MI, Tricia Simmons and Robby Simmons, both of Flint; 8 grandchildren, Michele Hines of Troy, MI, Cydni Payton of Byron Center, MI, Philip Payton of Mt. Morris, MI, Spencer Payton of Byron Center, MI, Aaron Simmons, Andrew Simmons, Robbie Simmons and Leah Simmons, all of Flint; daughter-in-law, Melva Payton of Byron Center, MI; 2 sisters, Shirley Malone of Flint and Helen (Leonard) Wyatt of Baldwin, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert R. Simmons; son, Darris D. Payton; sisters, Betty Kelly, Mary Alice Davis, Lugenia Benion and Dorothy Jeanette Short; brothers, Ralph Grace and Donald Kelly.
