MARKS, Mrs. Patricia Ann - Age 74, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Harris Memorial C.O.G.I.C., 4317 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Supt. Eric C. Bogan, Host Pastor, Pastor Robert E. Smith Jr., Eulogist. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9605 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:0 AM Saturday. Mrs. Marks will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends.Mother Patricia Ann Marks went from labor to victory on Friday, April 8, 2022 at McLaren - Flint. Patricia was born on June 15, 1947 in Whatley, Alabama the oldest daughter to the union of Mac and Augusta Burroughs. Mother Marks was a member of the first graduating class of Flint Northwestern High School. She received a degree in Travel and Tourism from Baker College. Mother Marks retired after a 31 year career at General Motors. Mother Marks was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Pastor William Sewell at St. James Church of God In Christ. She served willingly and faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Sewell, Pastor Eddie Parrish and current Pastor Robert E. Smith Jr. in the positions of Church Secretary, Young Women’s Christian Council President and Sunday School Teacher. Mother Marks was also a licensed Evangelist Missionary. She also served as Chairperson of the Christian Women’s Council for the Flint and Saginaw areas for the Historic First Jurisdiction of Michigan Northeast, at the behest of the late Supervisor, Mother Norma Burrell. Mother Marks attended Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for many years. Mother Marks was a humble and gifted servant of the Lord. She was a great encourager, devoted counselor and conscientious confidant to many, an intercessor, prayer warrior and prayer partner. Her natural talents included being an amazing cook, awesome baker and an incredible seamstress. She was an avid shopper. Our Mother, Most Favorite Oldest Sister and Friend leaves to cherish loving memories: sons, DeVan of Atlanta, GA and Derrick (Dawn) of San Tan Valley, AZ; sisters, Joyce Smith, Diane Burroughs, Marilyn James, Beverly Green, Tonya Ferguson, Cora (Kevin) Harris-Sanders; brothers, Roy (Rosalind), Brian (Regina), Michael, Ernest (Tanell) Green; 3 Grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; special great-great-god-daughter, “Princess” Talia Dunn; 2 aunts; 1 uncle; 6 brothers-in-law; 4 sisters-in-law; Pastor Robert E. Smith Jr. and the New St. James Memorial Church Family and a host of other relatives and special friends. Mother Marks was preceded in death by son, Baby Boy Marks; parents, bonus father, grandparents, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 3 nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
