Nina received The Usher’s Award of Honor for her strong Christian leadership in serving and inspiring “Gatekeepers” presented by The Usher Board of Dozier Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. A Time to Love: On July 27, 1952 Nina was united in Holy Matrimony for 62 years to Mr. J.W. Miller. To this union four children were born, Donna, Glen Myron, Sheila, and Cornelius Maurice. She was presented the "Hurley Medical Center Auxiliary Award" honoring her for outstanding services as President and Outstanding Volunteer; pledging their support to her as President of the East Central District. When her husband, suffered a stroke and became disabled, Nina chose to care for him at home. Consequently, she could no longer serve as an active volunteer at the hospital.
