December 17, 1993 - May 2, 2021

OVERTON, Mr. Myles Bradley - Age 27, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, May 14, 2021 at Bristol United Methodist Church, 5285 Van Slyke Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. Dr. Herbert Miller II, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Overton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Myles Bradley Overton was born on December 17th,1993. On Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at 27 years old he went home to be with the Lord. Myles was born in Flint, Michigan to James Bradley Overton and Darletha (Wanda) Overton. He was baptized at an early age. He attended Dukette Catholic School until 4th grade, and graduated from Carman-Ainsworth Community schools in 2012. Throughout his childhood Myles loved sports. These included karate, basketball, track & field, although  football was his passion. He loved watching TikToks, YouTube, movies, and spending time with his family and friends. Myles was a member of the Carman-Ainsworth varsity football team and was awarded a full-ride scholarship to the University of Northern Colorado. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Criminal Justice. He got the opportunity to be invited to the 2017 NFL Combine and was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to the Atlanta Falcons Rookie Mini Camp. After graduating college; Myles decided to stay in Colorado where he worked for Hertz as a manager, followed by Home Advisor until the day of his car accident. He moved back home in October 2020, after residing in Colorado for 8 years. Myles planned to stay in Michigan for a short while and eventually move to Texas with his sister Morgan but God had other plans for him. Myles was kind, respectful, loving, supportive, a leader, funny, hardworking, brilliant, and honest. Myles was a loving son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend to so many. Myles was loved and a true believer in God. Mr. Myles Bradley Overton leaves to cherish in his memories: mother, Darletha L. Overton, father, James B. Overton (Tina); grandmother, Gurline Overton; brother, James Overton; 3 sisters, Lauren Blassingame-Hooker (Demario), Morgan and Mariah Overton; cousins, Lamont Riley, Shana Riley, Jamarr (Taleisha) Riley, Armond Baskin, Leann (Brandon) Eggleston, Laura (Josh) Bell, Justice Green (who was more like a brother), Nia Manning, Alexander, Theron, and James Williams; special cousins, Daniel Walker, Markell and Micah Riley, Jayden and Jru Green, and Royal Walker; bonus brothers, Cheveze King Jr., Shahid Muhuhmad, Larry Talton Jr., Frank Felder III, Shane Barron, Cle Robinson, Quintin Miller, Darius Graham, Thomas Singleton, Brandon Lenior, Chuntony Johnson, and many others; bonus sister, Mercedes Graves; nieces,  Aubrey and Jordyn Blassingame-Hooker, and Semajia Overton; nephews, Elijah L. Blassingame-Hooker, and Semaj Overton; aunts, Cassandra Johnson (Terry), Natalie Johnson, Kathi (Lincoln) Scruggs, Cynthia Baskin, Janeen (Patrick) Williams, Teresa (Jason) Channels, Sonji (Stefan) Teer; bonus aunts, Tasha and Starletta Diggs, and Ericka (Nard) Fox; uncles, Craig Johnson, Kenneth (Venita) Hiler, and Ron Lee; followed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mr. Overton was preceded in death by grandparents, James L. Overton, Billie and Bernell Hiler, Eldorado Johnson; cousin, Anthony Baskin Jr.; and uncles Reginald Crain and Keith Hyler. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hurley Medical Centers ICU, Nuero, and Trauma department. Special thanks to Dr. Shah, PA Tiana Stinett, Tonya Osborn, the nurses, therapists, and staff. Also thanks to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital for their exceptional care and staff. Thank you for all of your prayers and the many acts of kindness that you have shown the family during this very difficult time.
