HANDLEY, Ms. Monica Simone - Age 48, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 in Duluth, GA. Ms. Handley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Ms. Monica Simone Handley was born December 9, 1973 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Julie Handley and Donnie Fisher. Monica was a resident of North Cross, Georgia. She attended church at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, MI. Monica graduated from Flint Northern High School and Detroit College of Business. She was currently employed with the Internal Revenue Service. Monica enjoyed attending church, praying for her family, having Bible Study with Juanita Bynum and shopping. Ms. Monica Simone Handley leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sisters, Kerry Johnson, Michelle Johnson and Lydia Brewton; 2 brothers, Dale Johnson and Deonta Fisher; 7 nieces, Rashanti Johnson, Keiana Johnson, Ma’Niya Johnson, Azalea Johnson, Zuri Johnson, Kindra Johnson and Laraih Johnson; 3 nephews, Dale Johnson Jr. Dallas Johnson and Aviontae Johnson; 1 great-niece; 7 aunts, Linda (Melvin) Hamilton, Myra Handley, Michelle Nard, Diane Moore, Cynthia Handley, Monique Reynolds and Mary Handley; 3 uncles, Leon (Margaret) Handley, Luther (Alaska) Moore and Julius Handley III; 2 brothers-in-law, Kevin Johnson and Keith Johnson; a host of other relatives and friend including special friends, Michael Mitchell and Charles Mitchell. Ms. Handley was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lydia Handley; and grandfather, Julius Handley Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to North Side Georgia Hospital and Tiffany Brown.
