Mr. Mitchell Arnold Dorsey

DORSEY, Mr. Mitchell - Age 63, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Rev. Lamarr Griggs, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Wednesday. Mr. Dorsey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Tuesday, with family present to receive friends from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mitchell Arnold Dorsey affectionately known as “Mitch” was born on July 16, 1959 in Flint, Michigan. The baby son of William A. Dorsey II and Flora M. Dorsey. Mitchell departed this life peacefully on February 16, 2023 at McLaren Flint. He lived a life full of laughter and love. Mitchell graduated from Flint Central High School as an Indian in 1977. He went to Central High School where he played sports. He graduated with his Bachelor of Business Administration from Detroit College of Business. Mitchell married Jauneysa “Niecie” June 17, 1989. They were married for 33 years. Whenever you see one you definitely saw the other. He worked for the Flint Journal for 19 years. Mitchell enjoyed music, fast cars, and playing cards/dominoes. Everyone knows he loved Corvettes. He owned several over the years. He loved his family including those extended. He was literally everyone’s favorite family man. He never met a stranger. He loved his girls!! Mitchell Arnold Dorsey leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Jauneysa “Niecie”; daughters, LaKeeka & Tiauna; grandson, Harlem J Little; siblings: brothers, William Dorsey, and Iseal (Kathy) Dorsey; sister, Carolyn “Doc” Butler; brothers-in-law, Dwayne Thomas, Ronald Thomas, Rudyard (Rita) Thomas and Stephen Thomas; sisters-in-law, Relda Alao, and Veronica (Earl) Thrasher; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; bonus children, Arcell Holmes, Fatima Strong, and Joseph Milton; best friends, Lamarr Griggs, Cynthia Threlkeld, Cassandra Watts, and Loretta Bullock. Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents, William A. Dorsey II, Flora Dorsey, and Charlie “CJ” Jones; parents-in-law, Sammie Thomas and Earlee Thomas; sister, Cynthia “Mikki” Holmes; aunts, Lillie Godwin, Gladys Godwin, and Frances Jamerson; uncles, Smart Jack Godwin, Otis Godwin, and Arnold Dorsey.
