JACKSON, Mr. Melton - Age 59, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, December 18, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Allen Overton, officiating. Friends and family will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Jackson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2021. Mr. Melton Jackson was born January 28, 1962, in Monroe, Louisiana, the son of Jessie Jackson Jr. and Mary Shaw. Melton was very charismatic; his laugh was contagious. He enjoyed helping people however he was able. He enjoyed working on cars, going fishing and riding his bike in the summer. Melton was always there to help family or friends. He also enjoyed being outside, time spent with his family, friends and good food. Melton loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly. He loved hanging out with his grandchildren and going for walks with them, old and new school music, and his coffee every day. Mr. Melton Jackson leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Mashell Jackson; 3 daughters and 2 sons, Edward (Heather) Williams, Cameo Bell, April Jackson and Christle Jackson; grandchildren, Breanna Harris, Armani Williams, Da’Coreon, Amaiya Williams, Brooklyn Barnes, Aveon Jackson, Kingston Williams and Kaisyn Bell; mother, Mary Lee Shaw; 4 sisters, Martha Simmons of Dublin, OH, Shelia McCrady, Sophia Jackson and Tiffany Jackson, all of Flint; brother, Derrick Jackson; 12 nieces; 11 nephews; 3 aunts, Katherine Dixon, Sallie Mae Taylor and Valma Lee Thompson; uncle, Larry Jackson; 3 sisters-in-law, Monsten Bell, Kathy Bell and Coefshun Jackson; 3 brothers-in-law, Deayo (Kiyana) Bell, Terry Simmons and Bobby Flenard; best friend, Mike Parker; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends he left behind and who he loved dearly. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Jackson Jr.; grandparents, Jessie Jackson Sr. and Arlee Jackson, Mable McDaniel and Lee Wilson; sister, Kenyetta Jackson; mother-in-law, Carol Ann Bell; sister-in-law, Carmen Bell; aunts, uncle nephew and great-niece.
