LAMAR, Mrs. Mary Louise - Age 78, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM Rev. Dr. K.D. Yarber officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Lamar will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Mrs. Mary Louise Lamar was born February 21, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Lillie B. Needom and Jim Jackson. Mary made her transition at the age of 78 from this earthly world on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. She later moved to Flint, Michigan where she met her husband, Thomas Lamar Sr. and they had 5 children, whom she loved dearly. Mary enjoyed shopping (in which she did a lot of) and making her phone calls. She loved music and dancing, and of course getting her latest blue jeans. Mary also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Mary Louise Lamar leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters and 2 sons, Rodger Jackson of Flint, Thomas Lamar Jr. of Lafayette, LA, Tyrina, LaTanya and Leslie Lamar; grandchildren, Michael Nard, Zania Cotton, Thomas Lamar III, Anastatia Lamar, Felicia Joy, Darmarione Darvarion Copeland, all of Flint, Ieshia Bonner of Amherst, NY, Malachi Sattiewhite, ArDeija Bunch and Justice Lee; great-grandchildren, Amariontae Moore, Armarionna Lee, all of Flint and JaiDen Bonner of Amherst, NY; 2 sisters, Pamela Smith of Flint and Paulette Coney of Tampa, FL; 14 nieces, special niece, Alketta (Brock) Murphy of Bloomfield, MI, Rhonda Whonda and Dewanda Watkins, Keshia Boyd, all of Chicago, IL, Carla Hunter of Atlanta, GA, Alene Oyebola, Charlotte and Sonya Strickland, all of Flint, Bobby Gilbert of California, Jewel Williams, Neicey, Tondra and Monica Lamar, all of Flint; 3 nephews, Matthew Williams of Georgia, Damien Needom of Tampa, FL and Justin Needom of Bloomfield, MI; 2 aunts, Beatrice Boyd of Chicago, IL and Kitty Boyd; special uncle, John Boyd, both of Alabama; 2 brothers-in-law, Burley and Lovie Lamar; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including best friends, Edith Medows and Latricia Stocker. Mrs. Lamar was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lamar Sr.; granddaughter, Tamara Lamar; mother, Lillie B. Needom; father, Johnny Needom; sister, Ruth Watkins; sisters-in-law, Darlene Strickland and Ola Matthews; mother-in-law, Azzie Lamar; and brother-in-law, Tommy Smith.
